•51.2V lithium batteries would likely only work as direct replacements in counterbalance forklifts specifically rated to operate on a 51.2V power system. Not all counterbalance forklifts use this voltage, so verify your forklift’s requirements first.

•As always, check with the counterbalance forklift manufacturer about lithium battery compatibility before installing them. Provide the battery specifications so they can determine if components will properly function, and follow any recommendations they provide.

•Choose a high-quality 51.2V lithium battery that is specifically designed for use in large electric forklifts and material handling equipment. Lesser quality lithium batteries will lack the power, durability and safety features needed for most counterbalance forklifts.

•Work with the lithium battery supplier to determine the right capacity (amp-hours) based on your forklift model’s power demands. Very high-capacity batteries, 500Ah or more, will likely be required for a counterbalance forklift.
