24V-80V Lithium Battery Intelligent Charger

•Voltage: 24V-80V.

•Type: For Lithium Battery Charger

•A 24V-80V Lithium Battery Intelligent Charger with voltage outputs from 24V up to 80V could suit a range of lithium battery types, but it would only be compatible with lithium ion batteries in that voltage range. It cannot charge other lithium chemistries or battery voltages.

•For lithium batteries, choose a charger that provides a “lithium-specific” multi-stage charging profile with proper cut-off voltages for each stage based on the target lithium battery specs. Incorrect settings could risk damage, over/undercharging and reduced lifespan.

•Typical lithium charge stages:
1. Bulk charge at a high amperage for rapid recharging. The bulk voltage maximum must not exceed the battery’s rating.

2. Absorption charge at a slightly lower voltage to fully charge the battery. For example, 28.4V for a 24V battery or 54.6V for an 80V battery.

3. Float charge for maintaining a charge with a reduced voltage like 26V for 24V or 52V for 80V battery.

•The charger should have advanced safety protections like temperature monitoring, overload/short circuit protection, reverse polarity detection, and ignition protection if used where hazardous gases are present. Some lithium batteries require a BMS for charging—the charger must be compatible with any required BMS.

•The “intelligent” features refer to the charger continuously communicating with a battery’s BMS (if installed) to adjust charge rates based on voltage, temperature and charge levels to optimize charge times according to specs. This communication may require a separate charge controller.

•Carefully match the charger’s maximum voltage output to your target lithium battery. While it can charge 24-80V, the peak charging voltage for any stage must not surpass the lithium battery’s ratings which could potentially cause damage. Choose a charger with a maximum voltage close to your lithium battery.

•Be aware that improper charger selection or use could void lithium battery and equipment warranties. Always follow the manufacturers’ recommendations for charger compatibility, settings, and usage.

•Consider the enclosure rating for environmental needs. Weather-resistant designs may be required for outdoor applications. Weight, handle configuration and cable lengths should suit the portability needs.
